Darning socks

Nothing lasts forever, even sock-yarn socks. I found a hole on the heel yesterday. Actually I can darn socks but I thought, maybe the humankind has invented something new since I did it for the last time. And yes, it has! Ages ago☺

Ничто не вечно под луной, даже носки из носочной пряжи. Вчера нашла дырочку на пятке. Штопать я умею, но вдруг человечество изобрело новый способ с тех пор, как я занималась этим в последний раз? И таки да, изобрело! Причем давно. Называется он "швейцарская штопка". Привожу здесь два варианта. Я воспользовалась первым на этот раз.

Two side fingerless mittens

My hat took not so much wool I thought, so I desided to knit a pair of friends for it. Again very simple design to suit the hat and I can wear them in two ways!
*In the rib I knitted knit stiches in back loop

На шапку ушло меньше пряжи, чем я для нее купила, так что я решила связать ей парочку подружек-митенок ☺. Снова очень простой дизайн и их можно носить и так, и так!
* В резинке лицевые петли связаны за заднюю стенку

Crochet hook bind off

Actually the wider rip was not supposed to be that, I was just trying to bind it off loosely, but I love what I got in the end! I bound it off with a hook. Look how I did it:

1. Insert hook in two loops on the left needle.

2. Draw yarn through these two loops.

3-4. Draw yarn again through this new loop (make a chain stitch)

5. Place the loop again on the left needle.

Repeat till the end.

I'm sure this method has its name, but I don't know it ☺

Very simple hat with fur pompom, but I like it ☺ Knitted in a day (couple of hours, actually), that's why I love bulky yarn!

Yarn: Lang Yarns Sempione, needles 6mm and 8mm.

Short description: CO 50 st, rib 2x2 with needle 6mm, then change to 8mm, increase 10 st evenly; knit stockinette st. and then make decreases (repeat k2tog) in last two right side rows.
