I used half of my rainbow handspun for these mittens. They are very cozy and warm and it's a pity I can't wear them until next winter ☺ Thinking about knitting matching hat or a cowl.

Мои новые варежки, назвала их "Осенние листья". Использовала половину своей "радужной" самопрядки. Получились очень теплые и уютные варежки, жаль, до следующей зимы не выгуляю их ☺

200 Fair Isle Muster  - очень толковая книжка по вязанию fair isle, особенно мне понравились советы по подбору цвета. Сами схемы отличные, очень понятные, что называется, для чайников ☺

Finally I've finished it. I wished me a very warm, very cosy, country-style sweater from pure "country" wool, and (though not without some flaws) I made it!

Наконец-то готов мой "деревенский" свитер. Косяков много, в частности, потекла краска во время стирки, и тем не менее я очень довольна.
Вязала по кругу до пройм, и рукава тоже по кругу. 
Шерсть латвийская - Лимбажу Тине и какая-то неопознанная тоже из Латвии, судя по всему, ручного прядения. Мне очень понравилось ею вязать и сам результат - то, как преображается вещь после стирки. Больше фото на Равелри.
Если кто-то знает, как убрать потеки, пожалуйста, скажите мне тоже ☺

Or should I better say - I won this fight?.. I had to unravel the second one 5 times! That is what happens when you knit mittens with a break of 4 months and don't make any notes. 

Now I just feel exhausted and happy that it's all over ☺ 

And look how much yarn is left! Keep in mind that Regia doesn't sell this colour anymore.

Я закончила синие латышские варежки... или лучше сказать - победила. Пришлось распускать 5 раз! Вот что значит вязать варежки с перерывом в 4 месяца и не вести при этом никаких записей. Чувствую себя опустошенной и рада, что это закончилось ☺ 

И смотрите, сколько пряжи осталось. Причем Регия больше не выпускает этот цвет!

Now I found them and try to continue, but it goes so slowly, I feel tired of that boring pattern (boring for knitting, I mean. It looks nice when finished)...

Latvia’s Favorite Knitter

I've found (thanks to Ravelry Group "Knit Like a Latvian") informaton about famous Latvian knitter Jette Užane. I didn't know about her before. I am really impressed, I think she was the true artist.

Latvia’s Favorite Knitter: Jette Užane (1924-2007) 

When she died in March, Jette Užāne received obituaries befitting a revered author or musician in Riga’s largest newspapers. Instead she was a severely handicapped farmwoman with no formal education. Several years ago, when I asked Latvian friends in Riga about their traditional folk mittens, they repeatedly said, “The best ones are made by Cimdu Jettiņa.” This is an affectionate name (using the diminutive form). “Little Jette of the mittens” might be a literal translation.

Ivy League Vest

Fair isle project, I'd started about two years ago, forgotten and brought back to life.
The yarn is pure merino ("Sidney" from Filatura Cervinia, Italy). The vest is incredibly warm, even more after I've felted it a little bit.

"Knit like a Latvian" mittens

Here are they - mittens, knitted from Latvian wool using Latvian traditional design. This was the knitting DIY kit "Knit Like a Latvian" which I've bought this summer in Riga. They are not my first latvian mittens and absolutelly not the last (because I'm crazy about Latvian ornaments), but they are the first ones knitted with real latvian wool - and I totally love it! So does my cat Sandy.

Это первые латвийские варежки, связанные мною из настоящей латвийской шерсти. Этим летом в Риге я купила набор "Knit like a Latvian". Это не первые латвийские варежки, которые я вяжу, и уж точно не последние (потому что я сама не своя по латвийским орнаментам), но настоящую местную шерсть я использовала впервые. Невероятно довольна ею! Моя кошка Сэнди тоже.
